Screen for tomorrow's success, not yesterday's earnings
I am Aksel Lukander, the founder of QualScreener and a retail investor based in Finland. I've been investing as a hobby for the past six years, though some of you may know me better from my investment blogs published under the name SpruceHill Capital.
If you follow me on X or read my deep‑dive analyses on Substack, you know that I'm passionate about uncovering value—especially in the often overlooked corners of the market.
When I first started investing, I ran into a problem.
Traditional screeners helped me filter for metrics like P/E ratios and other numerical data, but they never gave me enough context to make confident decisions. They showed what had happened, not what was happening. The information was purely historical and didn't help me form a view on the future.
I built QualScreener to solve that problem. I needed a way to screen for what actually matters—not just what the numbers say about the past.
So I developed an AI engine that reads thousands of investment reviews and categorizes them the way a human investor would, tagging them with traits like Near‑Term Catalysts, Net‑Nets, Moats, and more.
What began as a personal project to support my own research is now available to you. My mission is to give investors a centralized source for high‑quality idea generation.
I hope you enjoy the service.
